User Researcher - Permanent, Birmingham/Home based

Our client is looking to the market for a seasoned User Researcher to join a large / complex Digital Transformation Programme based out of their offices in Central Birmingham. Given the current climate this role will be predominantly home based, however the client would encourage working from the office 1 – 2 days per week once we get back to normal.

The client is a highly respected software company who are now in the process of growing their Solution development team. They are looking for a UR / User Researcher to be part of a new Product and Design team, where you will be driving a wider change across the organisation introducing and designing a rigorous approach for user research.

You will Lead in the development and maintenance of the user research approach to new and existing products, including processes, tools and documentation. As well as plan, organise and conduct user research activities using a variety of research techniques, including, but not limited to; desk research, competitor analysis, online surveys, one-on-one interviews, customer focus groups, workshops and user testing. Questions will be framed to elicit the best results and develop a deep understanding of our users’ problems, needs and motivations.

Any experience of GDS - Government Digital Service would add considerable weight to your application.

At this level, you will obviously be expected to demonstrate strong communication skills both verbally and written, along with the ability to develop excellent working relationships both internally and externally.
